Dr. Izabela Schultz is a licensed psychologist in B.C., Ontario, and Washington State. She is duly Board certified in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and as a Vocational Expert by the American Board of Vocational Experts. Her private practice is in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology, focusing on the interface between mental health and work. Dr. Schultz is a founder, director, and expert at the CORTEX Centre for Advanced Assessment, a Vancouver-based company affiliated with the University of British Columbia (UBC). She was a professor of Vocational Rehabilitation Psychology and director of the master’s program in Vocational Rehabilitation Counselling at UBC until she transitioned to leading the Cortex Centre a few years ago. Dr. Schultz has extensive teaching, research, and clinical experience in determining the impact of neuropsychological and psychological impairment on work capacity and fitness, return to work, and job accommodations. She performs IMEs and consultations based on referrals from employers, unions, insurers, licensing bodies, lawyers, and clients themselves. Dr. Schultz published seven books in the field including Work Accommodation and Retention in Mental Health, Handbook of Return to Work: From Research to Practice, Handbook of Complex Occupational Disability, and Handbook of Occupational Health and Wellness, all pertinent to the current conference’s focus.
