Jackie Laviolette is a Partner at Mathews, Dinsdale & Clark LLP. Her practice encompasses advising employers on all matters arising in the workplace including grievance arbitration, human rights and workplace investigations. Prior to joining the firm, Jackie spent 15 years in-house, most recently as the Associate General Counsel, Labour and Employment, for Alberta Health Services. Acting for the largest unionized employer in Alberta, Jackie has appeared as lead counsel before boards of arbitration, labour boards, human rights tribunals, and all levels of court.
Jackie possesses in-depth expertise in both health care and education, assisting with mediation, interest arbitration, certifications, and essential services negotiations. She previously worked as a Labour Relations Specialist for a post-secondary institution and received her articling training at a mid-sized firm, specializing in labour and employment.
Jackie holds an LL.B. from Western University and a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta.
