James LeMesurier, K.C., is a Partner in the Atlantic Canada law firm Stewart McKelvey, based in the firm’s Saint John, New Brunswick office. Jamie maintains an active practise devoted to advising and representing employers in both the public and private sectors on all aspects of employment and labour relations law, including collective bargaining, collective agreement administration, discipline and dismissal, employment standards, grievance arbitration, human rights, occupational health and safety, and workers’ compensation. From 2007-2008, Jamie served as the employer representative on the Independent Review Panel tasked with reviewing the New Brunswick workplace health, safety, and compensation system. He has been recognised as a leading practitioner in labour law and employment law by Lexpert, Best Lawyers and Who’s Who Legal for a number of years. In 1999, Jamie received the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. In 2012 he was designated Queen’s Counsel. In 2021 he was elected as a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. He is a founding member of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers.

Jamie holds a B.A. from Dalhousie University and an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick. He was called to the Bar of New Brunswick in 1981.
