Jessica Thomson is a partner at Pulver Crawford Munroe LLP. She is a trusted advisor in labour and employment law, known for her strategic and practical approach to complex workplace matters. With extensive experience in both British Columbia and Alberta, Jessica advises employers across both public and private sectors, operating within provincial and federal jurisdictions. Her work spans government, post-secondary education, technology, oil and gas, financial services, and a range of other industries.

A skilled advocate with a strong litigation background, Jessica is known for providing incisive advice and adeptly navigating various dispute resolution processes, including courtroom proceedings, arbitration, and mediation. She provides thorough guidance to clients on a wide range of labour and employment matters, including labour relations, employment standards, wrongful dismissal, human rights, workplace safety, and disciplinary actions.

Jessica is also an experienced investigator, adept at handling investigations involving allegations of harassment, sexual misconduct, conflicts of interest, and other forms of misconduct. In addition to conducting investigations as a neutral party, Jessica frequently serves as counsel to a wide range of stakeholders — employers, complainants, respondents, and witnesses — offering her unique insight into the rights and concerns of each party and reinforcing her commitment to fairness and due process.

Early in her career, Jessica served as a Crown Prosecutor for the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service, where she established herself as an effective litigator, managing a high volume of cases and working with victims of trauma, including those affected by sexual and domestic violence. Jessica began her career as criminal defense counsel.

Jessica frequently speaks on labour and employment law topics and has taught employment law at the University of Victoria’s law school. She serves on the Victoria Bar Association Board of Directors. An active member of the South Island Prosperity Partnership (SIPP), Jessica contributes to initiatives focused on regional economic development, innovation, and sustainable growth. Additionally, she serves on the Board of the Victoria Hospitals Foundation, supporting efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and patient care in her community.

Having attended Francophone schools in Northern Ontario, Jessica is proficient in French.
