Josh Ingram is an actuary and Principal of Eckler Ltd. He has been a member of Eckler’s pension consulting practice since 2009 and specializes in trusteed target benefit multi-employer and jointly sponsored pension plans from all different sectors and jurisdictions across Canada. He advises trustees and sponsors of these defined benefit plans on all matters including plan governance, design, funding, administration, and risk management.

He believes Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is critical to the future of the actuarial profession, and he holds the Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) designation through the Society of Actuaries. Josh is an expert in the review and development of sustainable funding and benefit policy through stochastic pension projection models and economic and demographic scenario testing. He participated in the Canadian Institute of Actuaries’ Canadian Pensioner Mortality Study and prepared industry-leading pensioner mortality studies for the construction industry in Canada.

Josh leads a group responsible for advising Eckler’s consultants across the country on economic, actuarial, legislative, and other developments in the pension industry. He is passionate about the target benefit plan framework as a truly fixed cost, sustainable vehicle to help provide retirement income security for all Canadians.

Josh holds an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Statistics from the University of Waterloo. He is a Fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
