She has appeared before the Federal Court, all levels of provincial/superior courts, and before a variety of administrative tribunals. However, her more recent career has been directed towards alternative dispute resolution processes. Judy is an experienced workplace investigator, mediator, and assessor, and has worked in those capacities across Atlantic Canada in the transportation, medical, higher education, public education, professional regulatory, policing, and manufacturing sectors, among others, as well as for municipal, provincial, and federal government departments and arm’s length agencies.

Judy has been called to the Bar in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Ontario. She is Chair of the LSNB Competence Committee and a member of the LSNB Ethics Committee. Judy is currently a member of the Board of ADR Atlantic and of Elementary Literacy/Littératie au Primaire. She is a two-time past-President of the Canadian Association for the Practical Study of Law in Education, and was awarded an honourary life membership by that Association in April 2014. She is extremely proud to have recently been made an honourary member of IAFF Local 5087, the Miramichi Professional Firefighters Association (complete with a custom-made helmet), in recognition of her years of service as legal advisor to that organization and its members.
