Kai Ying Chieh is a senior associate at Overholt Law LLP. Kai Ying frequently advises a diverse range of employer and employee clients on employment agreements, severance packages, restrictive covenants, and workplace policies. Kai Ying takes care to guide her clients with practical but compassionate advice on human rights claims, terminations of employment, and professional regulatory matters.

Kai Ying has represented clients in mediations and various workplace litigation matters, including legal proceedings before the Human Rights Tribunal, the Labour Relations Board, and other administrative tribunals. Kai Ying has also appeared on matters at all levels of court in British Columbia.

Kai Ying is a graduate of the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia (UBC). During her degree, she served on the Board of Directors of the UBC Law Review as the Editor-in-Chief (Editorial); volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program and the Migrant Workers’ Centre; and worked in-house at UBC Human Resources, where she immersed herself in the work of human resources management professionals in complex workplace environments.
