Kait Carey is a Calgary based lawyer and investigator, passionate about fostering safe and healthy workplaces by integrating trauma-informed processes to resolve workplace issues and other conflicts. Kait has a demonstrated history of providing thoughtful, compassionate, and objective advice in all areas of her practice.

Prior to joining Southern Butler Price, Kait spent majority of her practice serving as senior in-house counsel for a post-secondary institution, focusing on labour and employment law. Kait was responsible for leading complex files for the institution involving arbitrations, mediations, and workplace investigations.

Kait received her Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba in 2012 and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2013 after articling at a large national law firm. In 2015, she received her Master of Laws (First Class Honours) from Trinity College Dublin at the University of Dublin. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Calgary.

Kait is trained in trauma-informed practices (Forensic Experiential Trauma Informed, Mount Royal University, 2017) and holds a Certificate in Labour Relations (Toronto Metropolitan University & Lancaster House, 2019).
