Kaity Cooper is general counsel with the Hospital Employees’ Union (HEU) in British Columbia. After clerking at the B.C. Court of Appeal, Kaity joined a Vancouver-based social justice organization, where she worked as a staff lawyer in the areas of human rights, workers’ rights, and housing. In January 2015, Kaity joined the legal department of the HEU, where she continues to advocate for the rights of workers.
Kaity holds a J.D. from the University of British Columbia (2010), where she received the Law Society Gold Medal and Prize, and a M.St. in International Human Right Law from the University of Oxford (2019), where she received the Morris Prize for finishing first in her class. She was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2012.
