Kevin Jeske has worked as a labour and employer-side representative in both the private and public sectors since 1995. He has worked at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) since 2002, where he serves as Associate Vice-President, Human Resources. Prior to the move to UFV, he served 14 years at the City of Vancouver, first as Labour Relations Consultant and then, beginning in 2011 as Manager of Labour Relations, with two years as Manager of Business Partnerships for Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services. During his time at the City of Vancouver, he bargained agreements with police unions, firefighter unions, the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Teamsters, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. He managed the formal RWP investigation process and more recently coordinated the development of (and served as spokesperson for) the City of Vancouver’s COVID-related adjustment plans and policies. He is proud to have served during the longest period of labour peace in the city’s history (2008 to present).

He started his labour relations career at the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC); over a 14-year period, he held roles in general representation, organizing, sectoral bargaining coordination, benefits, and public affairs as a Staff Representative and as Regional Director. He has bargained agreements in numerous industries including construction, mining, health care, manufacturing, transportation, and the service sector. He has also served as a board member of the British Columbia Industrial Relations Association since 2011. Kevin holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Simon Fraser University and is a proud UFV alumnus.
