She/Her
Lauren Brecher joined Emond Harnden LLP as an associate in 2018 after having worked in Toronto for five years as a labour and employment law professional. Prior to joining the firm, Lauren practised exclusively in management-side workplace law at a Toronto-based boutique, and worked as a Legal Researcher and Writer for Lancaster House specializing in labour, employment, and human rights law.
Lauren advises and represents employers in all areas of labour and employment law, including wrongful dismissal litigation, human rights, arbitration, collective bargaining, employment standards compliance, contract drafting and administration, health and safety, and privacy law. She believes strongly in empowering and educating her clients, as well as providing them with cost-effective and strategic solutions to avoid legal disputes while also staying best positioned for possible litigation.
Before embarking on her legal career, Lauren worked as an Employment Insurance Adjudicator and an educator in various capacities. Lauren draws on these experiences, as well as perspectives gained from her undergraduate studies in psychology, to provide her clients with well-rounded and high-quality legal services. Born and raised in Ottawa, Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors and she maintains strong links to the community.
