Leanne Monsma currently works as legal counsel at the University of British Columbia (UBC) where she specializes in providing advice to the university on human rights and administrative law matters. Prior to joining UBC, Leanne worked in private practice, primarily in the areas of human rights, administrative, labour, and employment law. Throughout her career, Leanne has provided counsel and guidance on issues of discrimination and accommodation. Leanne has appeared before all levels of court and various commissions, tribunals, and boards. Leanne obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta. She also has a Master of Laws from the University of College London where she completed her thesis on the intersection of human rights and privacy law.
