Lisa Mason is the Regional Director for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) in the province of Alberta.

Mason started her career as a home care support worker in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. After being elected president of her Local, Mason was hired by CUPE as a National Representative in 2016.

Since transferring to Alberta, Mason has served as the Bill 32 Co-ordinator, Education Representative, and is now acting Regional Director for the province. As Regional Director, Mason navigated a difficult strike in 2025 with the school board sector involving nine locals and 6,300 members.

Mason’s reputation as a plain spoken but fair negotiator and labour relations specialist has won respect and support from colleagues and adversaries alike.
