Madeline Hall is a lawyer and investigator at Mortimer Khoraych Workplace Investigations. Madeline’s practice involves conducting workplace, institutional, and regulatory investigations. Madeline has been involved in a broad range of investigations, including general and Code-based harassment, including sexual harassment, bullying, workplace violence, discrimination, toxic work environments, conflicts of interest, ethics/code of conduct breaches, and other misconduct or policy breaches.
Madeline’s expertise encompasses health care, privacy, employment, human rights law and professional regulation. Prior to her current role, Madeline amassed a decade of experience in health care law and litigation starting in private practice, where she refined her witness examination and evidence assessment skills before various courts and tribunals on complex, technical, and sensitive matters. She later joined a national organisation providing legal support to over 130,000 nurses and collaborating with unions to support nurses in various proceedings and investigations. Madeline also worked alongside provincial and national health care stakeholders to develop effective, legally sound policies. Madeline is a seasoned speaker, having delivered presentations and legal education to hundreds of health care providers at conferences across Canada.
Madeline was called to the Ontario Bar. She completed her legal studies at Queen’s University and obtained her B.A. with First Class Honours from the University of King’s College in History and International Development Studies. Madeline is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators. Madeline volunteers on the Research Ethics Board at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, using her legal expertise to review clinical trial applications.
Beyond the office, Madeline enjoys spending time outdoors with her three kids and husband and loves running long distances at high speeds. Madeline has traveled extensively in Southeast Asia and Central and South America. She speaks conversational French and Spanish.
