He/Him

Mark is a Partner at Israel Foulon Wong LLP. His practice is split between employment law and commercial/civil litigation.

In Mark’s employment practice, he has successfully defended employers and directors before the Ontario Superior Court, Ontario Labour Relations Board and Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. Mark also acts proactively on behalf of employers: from drafting enforceable employment contracts; to consulting on human resources-related policies and practices; to executing Anton Piller Orders against departing employees for misuse of confidential company property.

For employees, Mark frequently reviews and negotiates employment contracts and termination packages. Where a negotiation cannot be facilitated, Mark will litigate a wrongful dismissal action, including those where there is an entitlement to unpaid commissions, bonuses, or incentive compensation.

Mark’s litigation practice is diverse. He has represented clients at arbitration and at all levels of Court in Ontario relating to actions for breach of contract, misrepresentation, negligence and oppression. In many scenarios, Mark will assist a client with both a claim for oppression and their closely-related employment law claims.

Mark also frequently does mortgage enforcement work and represents those involved in forfeiture proceedings pursuant to the Civil Remedies Act, 2001 recover their government-seized money and property.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys golfing, playing hockey, and snowmobiling with his family at the cottage.
