Matthew Hrycyna is a Grievance Officer at the Ontario Public Service Employees’ Union. He is responsible for overseeing and litigating grievances in the Union’s Hospital Professionals Division. He advises Union Locals on matters pertaining to Collective Agreement enforcement and interpretation, the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Occupational Health and Safety act, as well of a range of local and provincial issues. Prior to working with OPSEU, Matthew was a Union organizer and worked with the United Food and Commercial Workers.

Matthew is active in the Ukrainian Canadian Community and is a member of the Ukrainian Canadian Bar Association. Recently, he served as a project manager for the Ukrainian Canadian Congress’ Resettlement Committee.

Matthew holds a B.A. from York University and a J.D. from Western University. He was called to the Bar in 2018.
