Maynard Witvoet has a comprehensive background in labour and employee relations, holding various managerial and consultant roles in reputable educational institutions in British Columbia. From 2002 to 2017, he worked at The University of British Columbia, initially as a human resources advisor and for the majority of time as an employee relation manager. In 2017, he transitioned to the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where he held key positions such as senior labour relations consultant and Manager of Labour Relations. Currently, he serves as the Associate Director of People Relations at Vancouver Community College. His responsibilities have included overseeing all labour relations matters, including, collective agreement administration, negotiations, grievances, arbitrations, human rights, bullying and harassment complaints, investigations, and conflict resolution. Prior to his work in the public post-secondary sector, Maynard worked as a union representative for a multi-craft trade union for 13 years in both Ontario and British Columbia. Maynard has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English obtained in 1986 at Calvin University, Grand Rapids Michigan, U.S.A.
