Michele White is a seasoned labour relations professional with sound knowledge of human resources and pay equity principles and processes. Michele graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources. She is also a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
Since joining Bass Associates in 2016, Michele has provided the full range of labour relations services including acting as spokesperson in bargaining and arbitration and providing costing advice to clients in support of bargaining and arbitration. Michele’s clients include governments, long term care homes, retirement homes, hospitals, home care agencies, and other not-for-profit or charity employers. She has extensive collective bargaining experience and has been the spokesperson in group bargaining processes involving Service Employees International Union (SEIU), LiUNA, and health care employers. She has supported the Ontario Ministry of Health in three rounds of negotiation with the Ontario Medical Association, including preparation for interest arbitration.
Michele has provided specialized advice in the development and negotiation of pay equity plans, maintenance processes, and job evaluation for employers in both unionized and non-unionized settings, including health care, engineering, gaming, and the municipal sectors. She has a thorough knowledge of pay equity and has provided strategic advice for clients on ensuring their compliance with the Pay Equity Act.
