Michelle Desnoyers is the Corporate Information Security Officer (CISO) for Alberta Pensions Services Corporation (APS).  APS provides pension administration services to nine public sector pension plans, which include more than 500 participating employers across Alberta, These services are provided under contracts with the Alberta Crown and with three corporations established by the Joint Governance of Public Sector Pension Plans Act (Alberta). Michelle leads the IT Security and Risk Management team and her portfolio is comprised of the practice areas of Business Resilience, Cybersecurity Operations, Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), Identity and Access Management (IAM), Information Management, IT Change Management, Release Management, and Security Education and Awareness.

A long-time member of the information security and cybersecurity profession, Michelle is passionate about promoting knowledge and awareness to protect the data and business processes of organizations against cyber threats and risks. Her previous work in the private sector involved providing IT services to a multi-subsidiary organization on a complex network to establish and manage robust cyber and business resiliency.  She is also active with the Public Sector Network for Cybersecurity and Risk Management, the Government of Alberta CyberAlberta Community of Interest, and the Canadian Pensions Information Security Advisory Committee (PISAC).
