She/Her

Monica Bokenfohr has been with Neuman Thompson since October 2019. Prior to joining the firm, Monica spent more than a decade as in-house legal counsel with Alberta Health Services (AHS), where she gained extensive experience with a wide range of labour and employment matters. Within this heavily unionized environment, she advised regularly on collective agreement interpretation and administration, discipline, terminations, accommodations, grievance handling, policy development, and best practices for employee management. In this role, she gained extensive experience representing management before labour arbitration boards, the Alberta Labour Relations Board, and the Alberta Human Rights Commission.

Since joining Neuman Thompson, Monica has continued her passion for advocacy and problem-solving, representing employers from a diverse group of industries in both the public and private sector, in both the union and non-union environment. Monica finds great reward in partnering with her clients to serve a broad range of their diverse labour and employment needs, from providing timely and effective day-to-day and strategic advice, leading and supporting collective bargaining, and acting as a strong and capable advocate in hearings and alternative dispute resolution forums.
