Nicole Butt is Senior Legal Counsel for the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA). Her current practice focuses on representing OECTA and its members at grievance arbitration, with disability claims and regulatory complaints before the Ontario College of Teachers. In addition, Nicole provides frequent education to OECTA members.
Previously, she was senior legal counsel for the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA), where she regularly appeared before labour arbitrators and administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Labour Relations Board on matters arising under the Public Sector Labour Relations Transition Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Labour Relations Act. She represented ONA at both the Gillese Long-Term Care Homes Public Inquiry and the Long-Term Care COVID-19 Commission.
Nicole is currently serving as the Past President of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers (CALL).
