Nicole Butt is Senior Legal Counsel for the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA). She regularly appears before arbitration boards and administrative tribunals on behalf of ONA and its members and frequently appears before the Ontario Labour Relations Board on matters arising under the Public Sector Labour Relations Transition Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Labour Relations Act. She represented ONA at both the Gillese Long-Term Care Homes Public Inquiry and the Long-Term Care COVID-19 Commission. In addition, Nicole provides education to ONA staff and membership. Prior to ONA, she clerked with the Ontario Superior Court. She currently serves as the President of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers.
Nicole holds an LL.B. from the University of Victoria, an M.A. from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a B.A. (Hons.) from the University of Toronto. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2005.
