Norm Jesin has been engaged in labour law since articling at the Ontario Labour Relations Board in 1982. A graduate of the University of Ottawa Law School, he started as in-house counsel for the Teamsters Union in 1983. Later that year he joined CaleyWray in 1983. In 1988, he co-founded the firm of Jesin Watson & McCreary where he represented trade unions until 2004. In that year, he was appointed a part-time Vice-Chair at the Ontario Labour Relations Board. He also began a practice as a private arbitrator and mediator in that year dealing with all types of labour disputes. Today his practice is heavily weighted in resolving interest dispute as arbitrator and as mediator, particularly but not exclusively in the health care field.
