Rosellen was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. She graduated from University of Ottawa in 1995 with a Master of Criminology and from Dalhousie Law School in 1998. Rosellen worked with the provincial Department of Justice until 2006. She was Junior Inquiry Counsel to Commissioner Antonio Lamer at the Lamer Inquiry which examined three wrongful convictions in Newfoundland and Labrador. Her work on the inquiry led to a keen interest criminal defence law, which she pursued in 2006. For almost 20 years, she focused almost exclusively in the area of sexual assault.

In 2024, drawing from her years of litigation practice Rosellen expanded into the area of workplace and institutional harassment/sexual harassment investigations. She has received an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Investigations from Osgoode Hall and has completed investigations training from Workplace Institute and Rublin Tomlinson. She received Level 4 in Interpersonal Mediation from UK Mediation and AIM Qualification and Assessment Group. In 2025, she made the transition more official with the launching of the Sullivan Investigative Insights, an investigation firm focusing on Gender Based Sexual Violence and Harassment.

Rosellen appears in all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada.

She has been a director of the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers (CCCDL) since 2015. On behalf of the CCCDL, Rosellen appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights along with other members in relation to Bill C.75 and changes to the Criminal Code.

Rosellen has been named Best Lawyer by her peers since 2020 in the area of Criminal Law. In 2025, Rosellen was inducted as a fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers.
