Sharon Naipaul is a lawyer and mediator at Strategic Workplace Equity and Conflict Resolution Solutions, offering services including mediation, workplace assessments and transformations, training, coaching, and facilitation. Sharon began her career in private practice representing unions and employees in labour, employment and human rights matters, appearing before a wide range of courts and tribunals. Following that, she spent time litigating at a large public service union. Sharon then joined the Ontario Labour Relations Board and spent many years there as a Senior Mediator. She returned to private practice later, specializing in workplace investigations and workplace conflict resolution.

Following her passion for mediation, training, and consultancy, she started her own company, Strategic Workplace. Sharon’s goal is to incorporate anti-oppressive, anti-racist, anti-hierarchical, and trauma-informed principles into all of the work that she does.

Sharon is a 2010 graduate of Western Law and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2011. She spent four months interning at the International Labour Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. She was also the chair of both the Labour Law Society and Diversity Committee while at law school. She has numerous certifications including the Executive Certificate in Conflict Resolution from Stittfeld Handy/Windsor Law and the Advanced Workplace Restoration and Workplace Health and Fairness Assessment Certification from WFI. Sharon teaches for the York University School of Continuing Studies Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution program. She is also appointed to numerous rosters as a mediator. Sharon is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, and is a volunteer foster with Team Dog Rescue.
