Sotonye Godwin Hart is a lawyer at Koskie Glavin Gordon, where she represents public and private sector unions in matters including termination of employment, accommodation, contract and policy interpretation, and human rights issues. Her practice spans arbitrations, mediations, and proceedings before a range of administrative tribunals.

Alongside her union side labour relations work, Sotonye also advises senior management and executive level employees on employment contract negotiations, wrongful dismissal matters, and the negotiation of severance entitlements.

Sotonye has appeared before both the B.C. Supreme Court and B.C. Provincial Court, and brings a broad litigation and advisory background to her practice. She serves on the board of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL), B.C. Branch and Union Gospel Mission (UGM).

Sotonye has a Bachelor of Laws from Obafemi Awolowo University (2007), a Master of Laws (International Trade and Human Rights) from the University of British Columbia (2012), and a Certificate in Business Leadership from Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto (2021). Outside of her legal work, Sotonye enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, and exploring great fiction.
