She/Her

Stefanie Ratjen is a lawyer who works as a staff representative at the British Columbia General Employees’ Union (BCGEU), a union with 80,000 members in 550 bargaining units.  She provides practical advice and effective advocacy for union members on a range of labour relations matters, including discipline, privacy, human rights and collective agreement interpretation.

Before her legal career, Stefanie worked a number of thankless low-waged jobs, as well as in the non-profit/advocacy sector promoting civil liberties and human rights. She continues to apply these experiences to her practice.

Stefanie holds a B.A. from the University of British Columbia, and a J.D. from the University of Windsor. She was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2017.
