Currently employed in Healthcare with the Manitoba Nurses Union (MNU) in a Labour Relations Officer (LRO) capacity with a specialty portfolio as a Health and Safety Professional (HSP). Employed with MNU since 2003 with direct work experience in the labour relations field including Collective Bargaining, Grievance Arbitration, Workplace Safety and Health and organizing. As an LRO, I have represented Nurses’ interests within their workplaces in the city, in rural areas, and in the north. I have been tasked with the development and delivery of WSH training for Manitoba Nurses members, staff, and locals. Also responsible for responding to urgent fact situations related to abusive and violent situations within healthcare. The Labour Relations work spans Acute Care, Long Term Care, Community and Public Health Nursing. In my Workplace Safety and Health work, I have acted as the co-chair of a Union/Management Workplace Safety and Health Committee representing the Healthcare Unions in Manitoba (MCHCU: Manitoba Council of Healthcare Unions). I have chaired the MCHCU Workplace Safety and Health Committee as well as participating as a Member of the Provincial Healthcare Injury Reduction Committee and the Provincial Healthcare Violence Prevention Committee. Also, I currently have an advisory role in the national issues of WSH for the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) and sit on the Manitoba Federation of Labour Workplace Safety and Health committee.

From 1985–2002 I was employed at Magellan Aerospace. I was actively involved in my Local Union for 15 years including as Local President and Bargaining Committee Chairperson; I participated in and chaired the Collective Bargaining Committee for the CAW Local during my time at Magellan (formerly Bristol Aerospace).
