Tony Hart is a former police officer with 30 years of exemplary service with the Peel Regional Police. During his tenure as a police officer, he worked in various investigative, uniform, and support roles. He was a director on the Police Association for nine years and served as the JHSC co-chair for nine years.

Since 2020, Tony has been a Certified Health and Safety Consultant with the Public Services Health and Safety Association, where he supports emergency services and government agencies across Ontario with their health and safety journey. Tony has been the lead on completing audits, and workplace violence risk assessments for various agencies across Ontario particularly for organizations involved in compliance and those at greater risk to workplace violence.

Tony has been involved with LEOSH (National Law Enforcement in Occupational Safety and Health Association) since 2010 and is currently serving in the role of past-chair. Tony is also the Chief Steward for CUPE 24, addressing labour relations issues in his own workplace.

Tony is a graduate of the Ontario Police College, a Certified Health and Safety Consultant with Health and Safety Professionals Canada, a Certified Lead Auditor with the British Standards Institute, has a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from Toronto Metropolitan (Ryerson) University, a Leadership Certificate from the University of Waterloo, is a graduate of the Canadian Police Association’s Leadership Certificate Program at Harvard Law School and Telfer School of Management, he has a Certificate in Leading Police Organizations from the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Basic Emergency Management Certificate from Emergency Management Ontario, and Teaching Adult Learners Certificate from Mohawk College.
