Wade Poziomka is a partner at Ross & McBride LLP, practising in the areas of human rights, union-side labour law, and employment law. From 2016 to 2017, Wade was Acting Director of Policy and General Counsel to CARP (formerly the Canadian Association of Retired Persons), a seniors’ advocacy organization with approximately 300,000 members across Canada. In this capacity, he lobbied all levels of government; frequently appeared in local and national media on behalf of CARP’s members; drafted and implemented CARP’s policies on elder abuse, financial security, health care reform, and investor protection; and made submissions to committees of the House of Commons and the Senate in Ottawa.

Wade has taught labour history, government regulation of workplaces, and workplace issues for the McMaster University and Unifor Certificate Program, designed for union members in the automotive manufacturing sector. He also sits on a number of boards of directors and committees. He has been recognized for his commitment to the community and legal profession by Best Lawyers in Canada for 2020, has been ranked by Lexpert as consistently recommended in both employment law and workplace human rights, and recently selected as a Lexpert Rising Star: Leading Lawyers Under 40. Wade is the former chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Constitutional, Civil Liberties and Human Rights Section Executive, formerly served as first vice-president of the ARCH Disability Law Centre’s Board of Directors, and is an officer on the Canadian Bar Association’s Constitutional and Human Rights Section Executive.

Wade obtained his J.D. from the University of Toronto and his LL.M. from Cornell University.
