This program is for participants who are comfortable with the basics of workplace investigations and want to focus on more advanced topics and skills development.
Over the course of two days of interactive learning, including case studies, mock interviews, and writing exercises, participants will learn to
- Approach complex multi-party complaints with confidence
- Investigate allegations of systemic discrimination
- Deal with factors complicating investigations, such as parties with mental health disabilities, parties who are off on leave, police involvement, and media coverage
- Identify situations in which a trauma-informed approach is particularly important
- Assess credibility in situations where one person’s word is pitted against another with little or no corroborating evidence
- Write and identify succinct reports that withstand scrutiny
- Identify appropriate post-investigation remedial action and restorative practices
