While COVID-19 has profoundly transformed the workplace, harassment has remained an issue of significant concern. Many workplaces have witnessed an increase in the number of incidents and allegations of harassment. In remote work environments, toxic workplace behaviours have migrated to online platforms and virtual spaces that preclude traditional means of employer supervision and control. High-profile investigations of bullying at Rideau Hall and sexual misconduct in the Canadian military as well as heightened awareness of the prevalence and severity of racial harassment have drawn increased attention to the destructive effects of poisoned workplaces.
To adequately address harassment in a changing workplace, parties must stay on top of relevant developments in law and practice. In this session, experts will explore recent caselaw, with a focus on remedies, investigations, and judicial review. Final selection of cases will take place shortly before the webinar to ensure coverage of current and emerging trends.
