Kelly VanBuskirk, K.C., is a partner in the law firm of Lawson Creamer, which is based in New Brunswick. He practises in the field of litigation with emphasis on labour and employment law and human rights and has represented clients in hundreds of hearings before tribunals and courts, including the New Brunswick Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Kelly is an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Business at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) and also acts as a part-time instructor in Trial Practice and Employment Law in the Faculty of Law. He teaches the UNB Workplace Investigations certificate course and has designed and implemented respectful workplace training programs for international organizations. His current research interests include employee claims motivations, dispute resolution models, workplace harassment, and accommodation of disabilities.

His book, titled Why Employees Sue: Rethinking Approaches to the Resolution of Employment Conflicts, was published by Thompson Reuters in April 2017.

Kelly holds a Ph.D. and an LL.M. in Employment Law from the United Kingdom, an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick, and a B.A. from the University of Prince Edward Island. He holds a Chartered Arbitrator designation from the ADR Institute of Canada.
