Student Access Program
Canadian professors and their students are eligible to join the Lancaster House Student Access Program, providing access to ALL of our online publications at no cost. If you are instructing a course in the area of labour law, labour arbitration, industrial relations, collective bargaining, human rights law, or occupational health and safety, we invite you to take advantage of this special arrangement.
- First Resort Databases and eAlerts – online, cross-linked database of all Lancaster House reports, with links to the full text of decisions on CanLII (where available). This service presents key labour and employment law decisions, with commentary and analysis for 23 different databases, each of which covers a discrete area of labour and employment law.
- Leading Cases on Labour Arbitration – an online version of the popular text, written by arbitrators Brian Etherington and Morton Mitchnick. It consists of leading cases, analyzed by the authors, on over 150 labour arbitration topics. Key passages are provided, and you will be able to view the full text of the case in PDF format as well. The publication can be accessed online through a table of contents, an index, or a keyword search.
- Unionized Workplaces in Canada: Labour Laws and Contract Clauses – authored by Jeffrey Sack, K.C. and Peter Neumann, this resource is Canada’s major text on all Canadian law applicable to collective bargaining, accompanied by actual contract clauses drawn from current collective agreements negotiated across Canada in both the public and private sectors. This fully searchable online service is updated regularly with new clauses, commentary on the latest arbitration awards, and legislative changes that affect collective bargaining.
- Canadian Labour & Employment Law Journal – cited in significant labour relations decisions by the Supreme Court of Canada, the Journal is Canada’s foremost peer-reviewed periodical in the field of labour and employment law, with in-depth analysis and commentary by academics and legal practitioners. This database is cross-linked with CanLII decisions and is searchable by keyword, jurisdiction, and decision. You and your students may read articles and decisions online, or print them for future reference.
- Wrongful Dismissal & Employment Law eText – in textbook format and organized by subject matter and issue, this text will provide you and your students with quick access to Lancaster’s extensive collection of wrongful dismissal and employment law- related articles, databases and cases, which are supplemented by up-to-date commentary and analysis.
- Supreme Court of Canada Decision Database – a compendium of Supreme Court decisions over the past 25 years, dealing with labour, employment and human rights law, summarizing facts, issues and reasons.
In order to provide you and your students with access to our online resources, please provide 1) the name of the course, 2) when it is being offered, and 3) a student list, with full names and e-mail addresses. We will then send you an e-mail with password and login information.
