This talk details some epidemiological trends and behavioral patterns in men’s mental health and illnesses including depression, anxiety, and suicidality. Drawing findings from two nationally funded studies, men’s work, and potential interventions are discussed with a focus on social health factors including peer mutual help, and the role of intimate partner relationships for promoting men’s mental health. Included are practical tips for self-managing mental health, along with strategies for promoting men’s well-being and de-stigmatizing help-seeking for mental illness challenges.
